Final Rally for Maryland DREAM Act with Prominent Elected Officials, Hundreds of Students and Advocates

Hundreds of students and advocates for the Maryland DREAM Act will join high-profile political leaders for a final Get Out To Vote rally in support of Question 4 on Monday at 1 p.m.  The rally will be held at Montgomery College’s Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus and will feature Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett, Howard County Executive Ken Ulman, and other prominent delegates, state senators, and councilmembers.

Question 4, the ballot referendum on the Maryland DREAM Act, has attracted diverse support from across the state and supporters are blanketing neighborhoods and polling places with information about the Maryland DREAM Act, urging voters to vote for Question 4 in these final 3 days before the November 6 election.

WHO: Hundreds of students and diverse group of advocates for the Maryland DREAM Act, and political leaders including:

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman

Montgomery County Councilmember Hans Reimer

State Senator Rich Madaleno

State Senator Victor Ramirez

Delegate Joseline Peña-Melynk

Delegate Eric Luedtke

WHERE: Plaza in front of Charlene R. Nunley Student Services Center at Montgomery College- Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus (7625 Fenton Street, Takoma Park, MD)

Educating Maryland Kids, the coalition working to protect the Maryland DREAM Act, is comprised of faith-based, education, civil rights, and labor organizations including SEIU, the Maryland State Education Association, Maryland IAF, Maryland Catholic Conference, NAACP, and CASA de Maryland.
