Introduction and Statement of Purpose:
Thank you for visiting CASA de Maryland. We are a non-profit service organization assisting Maryland’s low-income Latino and immigrant community. Our overarching goals are to promote improved economic conditions, social conditions and to facilitate structural change that results in concrete improvements in living conditions.
Your privacy is important to CASA de Maryland, Inc (CASA). This policy explains our data collection and the use of that information collected.
CASA reserves the right to change this policy by updating this page. You are invited to reference this page for updates to this policy, which includes the date of the latest revision at the bottom.
CASA’s Web site is an educational and informational electronic publication of CASA de Maryland. CASA de Maryland respects each individual’s right to personal privacy, is committed to respecting the privacy of online visitors, staff members and community members and pledges its best efforts to that end. In general, you can visit CASA de Maryland and its web without telling us who you are or revealing anything about yourself.
The web servers of CASA’s internet service provider automatically generate anonymous logs during user visits to the CASA de Maryland website. This non-personal information is used to create aggregate statistics, for example about when the CASA website is accessed, the pages which refer visitors to the CASA website, the type of web browsers visitors use and which pages are viewed. These statistics help CASA understand how its website is used and provide valuable information for improving it in the future.

What we collect:
• We ask for certain demographic and contact information when you are applying for membership or receiving services, which is entered into our database.
• When you submit a resume to a job posting, we need your email address and name so that CASA to which you are applying can contact you.
• When you submit your resume to CASA, we include this information in our database to inform you about new CASA’s vacancies.
CASA does not collect personal information (such as name, address, phone number or e-mail address) on the CASA website unless a visitor voluntarily chooses to provide it – For example, when a visitor registers on our site, through the mail, or over the telephone to subscribe to CASA’s newsletter, respond to a survey, sign up for an event, take action on an issue using our service, volunteer, purchase publications, apply for a job, and/or donate. Under these or similar situations, a visitor may be asked to enter their name, email address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information. Information you provide to CASA may be stored by us for an indefinite time. CASA de Maryland does not share this information with other organizations. Visitors and members are free to change, update or delete this information at any time by contacting CASA.
If a visitor chooses to provide personally identifiable data, they may receive future information from CASA by mail, electronically or by telephone. If you do not wish to be contacted with such information, please let us know by writing CASA or sending an e-mail to the address at the bottom of this page. Please make sure to provide your full name, address, and email address(es) for exclusion from "future contact" lists.
How we use the information collected:
We ask for information to understand your needs and provide you with better service for the following reasons:
• Internal record-keeping
• We may use the information to improve our products and services
• We may periodically send promotional materials (email or letter) about new products, services, training, campaigns, rallies, or special trainings and other information which we think you may find helpful or relevant our members.
Who uses the information?
• Those CASA’s staff members who perform community services and have signed CASA’s confidential policy may have access to community members and visitors’ information.
• We do not share any contact information nor email address with anyone.
• We do share the contact information of members who are enrolled in our Workers Centers list with employers to facilitate their business.
Surveys and phone banking:
• From time-to-time, we may ask our members and a select number of non-members to participate in surveys and pone banking activities. Participation is completely voluntary.
• We may ask for contact and/or demographic information to help with the survey or campaign. The information collected in these surveys is used to improve our service to our members, and is not shared outside our company.
When sending us credit card information through postal mail or giving it to us over the phone, your credit card information is not stored anywhere, and documents with the credit card information are kept private and secured within our office.
CASA has contracted the services of a banking partner to process credit card donations submitted online. Our banking partner's secured server encrypts your credit card information so that it may be safely transmitted over the web. Credit card information entered on-line is not stored by CASA de Maryland and will not be released by CASA de Maryland or its banking partner to any other party.
CASA does not collect information about its visitors from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organizations.
CASA does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. CASA may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.
CASA de Maryland is pleased when young people visit our website and centers to learn and participate more about CASA and issues facing immigrants. In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, CASA de Maryland does not knowingly solicit or collect any personal data from anyone under 13 years of age and does not knowingly market to children. If such data is detected, CASA will take appropriate steps to remove the information from its databases. CASA will always request guardian’s consent if minors participate in any CASA’s activity.
How We Protect Personal Information:
CASA has implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from: unauthorized access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorized modification, unlawful destruction or accidental loss. All of our employees and data processors, who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of our visitors' personal data.
Although CASA takes measures to prevent unauthorized access to and maintain the accuracy of your data and information, no information transferred over the Internet is 100% secure. Although we attempt to keep information in a secure environment to safeguard the confidentiality of user’s personal information, we cannot guarantee complete security.

In order to provide a more comprehensive and useful site, the CASA de Maryland website may, at CASA’s discretion, include links to other websites. These third party sites are separate and independent from CASA de Maryland and CASA has no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. When you click on links to other Web sites, we encourage you to read their privacy policies as their standards may differ from ours. Nonetheless, CASA seeks to protect the integrity of our site and welcomes any feedback about these sites.
